| Keep An Eye On T-Wolves' Milicic |
Wolves host the Kings Wednesday, looking to snap their franchise tying 16-game losing streak.
But beyond the trying times, there's at least one player on the team that's worth keeping an eye on, newcomer Darko Milicic, who seems to have found a home in Minnesota.
His reputation as an underachiever high pick is now behind him. He can play without expectations because he's figured out he's a piece of the puzzle, not the focal point.
"It's a good experience, I tried to make the best of it, trying to work hard, get back in shape, and get back to playing basketball," Milicic said.
There's an emphasis on filling the seats at Target Center next season, and while Milicic might not be good enough to captivate a whole audience, if you get enough good players, he could end up being a good role player.
That's why he's enjoyed his time with the Timberwolves. He's been free to learn -- and he's got some things to learn.
And so far, he's impressed his head coach.
"All the things you're seeing him doing, the little glimpses of things that he does, is what I felt he could do from his rookie year," said Coach Kurt Rambis.
At one time, he was committed to returning overseas. Now, he's considering returning to the Wolves, where he's become comfortable.
As far as those days ahead of him, Milicic said he's looking forward to see if his best basketball will come to fruition.
"I hope so, I would do my best," he said.
