Samuel signed with Pinnacle in 2001. He led the NBA in rebounding during the 2005 playoffs, where he averaged a double-double against the defending world champion Detroit Pistons. Samuel has emerged as one of the premier shot blockers in the NBA and perhaps the most athletic center in the league. Samuel's athleticism makes him difficult for opponents to handle. He also has become an offensive threat, and has become one of the league leaders in FG%. Samuel was the first selection (26th overall) by the Philadelphia 76ers in the 2001 NBA draft. Prior to entering the NBA, Dalembert played college basketball at Seton Hall University. Samuel was born and raised in Haiti and is currently the only Haitian player in the league.
